Here’s something for all the adventure lovers, which would not only catch the eyes of everyone, but also amaze them with the statistics too. Apparently, Kenichi, the renowned Japanese adventurer, who has always been famous for his adventurous acts, is planning to sail on his fascinating wave-powered boat. It will be a whopping 7000 kilometre long journey, which will initiate at the Hawaii islands and conclude in the Kii Channel, located in Japan.
More interestingly, the journey is estimated to last around 3months, but the most amazing part of this trip will be the wave-powered boat, which has cool specs and powerhouse features. The boat can speed up to even 5knots without any diesel power, and is basically made up of super-thin recycled aluminium.
It is supposed to be the greenest ship currently under regular usage, and is nicknamed as the Mermaid II. It makes good use of the fins in tandem, along with the bow, which is helpful in movement and is basically driven by the waves automatically.
As a whole, it provides this ship with a dolphin-like kicking propulsion movement.
What’s more, the powerhouse boat doesn’t totally rely on the fins to move in the sea, but also derives power from solar energy. It harnesses the solar power to operate all the electronic circuitry on board, while the power of waves helps the ship to cruise along with great balance. The only downside of this ship is its low speed of 5knots, though it is pretty good keeping the very fact in mind that the ship totally operates on natural energy.
