Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

HTC unleashed the elegant beauty, HTC Snap at the 2009 CTIA Wireless show. This one is going to be one of the star attractions in the line up of smart-phones to be released by HTC this year.
The salient features of the HTC Snap include a 2.4-inch QVGA display, support to 3G connectivity and HSDPA, 2 Mega pixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology, WiFi and GPS, Quad-band GSM support (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz), MicroSD card slot as well as an impressive Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM)-esque trackball, which is going to be on similar lines of the Maple.
Apparently, HTC has dropped the idea of expanding their touch screen line up and now turned their focus towards the QWERTY smart phones, with the trackball style. But, don’t think that this is going to be just another ordinary smart-phone, as HTC Snap has also some pleasant surprises for its customers such as the Inner Circle app. It is basically an e-mail manager, which has never been featured on any of the smart-phones PDAs or mobiles till date. The inner circle app will be an interactive e mail manager, which can sort out selected senders’ emails and essentially works as smart mailbox for Windows Mobile smart-phones.
All the features of the HTC Snap are not yet known, but from whatever has been disclosed till date, the Snap looks like a promising contender in the never-ending line up of smart phone releases this year. Don’t forget that Blackberry, Samsung, Nokia, and several other contenders are already waiting around the corner to flood-in the market with the latest smart-phone with unique designs and awesome capabilities.
Furthermore, the HTC Maple will have to face the heat of smart-phone war, before the HTC Snap can make an entry into the market, some time later this year.
