Sure thing, the NVIDIA’s Ion platform has always been in the headlines for over three to four months, ever since the legendary graphics chip maker released this platform. And the latest development in this regard looks to be quite dramatic, as it is going to be an interesting NetTop unveiling the Intel Atom processor based on the NVIDIA’s featured Ion platform.
However, even the motherboard maker ASRock has decided to join the party with the NetTop ION 330 Series, which was announced at the recent NVIDIA event.
The Ion bandwagon seems to be ever expanding with loads of new developments coming up. Firstly, the Acer’s AspireRevo made use of this platform, and now it is joined by ASRock’s NetTop ION 330 with overall improvised system configuration, in comparison to its rival.
The Taiwanese company will also unveil interesting specs like HDMI and VGA output, 6 USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet LAN connector, along with the regular stuff. It will be provided with 2GB of DDR2 800 MHz dual-channel memories, though you may also upgrade up to 4GB.
You will get a 320GB SATA hard drive, as well as integrated Super Multi DVD optical drive, along with the NetTop 330.
Powered by a dual-core Atom processor, integrated NVIDIA graphics chip, weighing about 1.69kg, these NetTop 330 will come in dimensions of (D)186mm x (W)195mm x (H)70mm.
These NetTops are expected to come out in the Computex 2009, in the upcoming month, and it is expected that its availability as well as pricing will known during the event. Until then, we can only wait and wonder what else these NetTops will really provide the users with, especially keeping the added benefits of NVIDIA’s Ion platform in mind.
