Sharp invents a brand new 5 color scheme to spice up the picture clarity

Though LCD TVs provide you with the exceptionally high and unparalleled picture clarity and color contrast, not much do people know about the fact that there are only 3 primary colors – red, green and blue, which act as the basic colors and only from them, the other colors are derived.
Sharp, a company known for its electronic revolutions has decided to increase the total number of primary colors used from 3 to 5. The two additional colors are cyan and yellow and this addition is expected to deliver about 99% reproduction of all the visible colors on the screen. Named as the ‘System Multi-Primary-Color’ technology, Sharp is hoping to integrate this technology with all its LCD televisions that will be hitting the market henceforth.
What led Sharp to invent this new 5 color setup was the fact that the usual 3 color ones face problems in reproducing certain hues like blue and other variations for nice picture clarity. But, another problem with increasing the colors is that the power consumption also jumps higher. Sharp however has tried to nullify this by bringing down the backlight.
Before these screens enter the domestic usage, you can find them out in museums, malls, multiplexes and other public locations. These will be essentially high-end display devices, measuring about 60.5 inches, and will come with an ultra high HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The contrast ratio is calculated to be 2000:1, and several other superior specs will help them outsmart the normal LCDs with great ease. However, you must be prepared to shred off some serious money, and those looking out for quality low budget LCDs for home usage, may consider other options than this.
