When web 2.0 platform was introduced nobody had ever thought that it would change the scope of internet to such an extent. With RSS feeds, and emergence of social networking communities like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and the likes of them, the Web 2.0 feel totally changed the way websites looked and functioned.
And, it’s about time we looked at the Web 3.0 life. The Web 2.0 to 3.0 transition will be another significant one, in the history of internet.
So, you must be wondering what will the Web 3.0 era be all about? Well, apparently looking at the recent developments, it seems as though the Web 3.0 era will be fully dominated by open source goodies, especially the blogging platforms, and web content management tools like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, CushyCMS, Railfrog and the likes of them.
In case, you’re not very familiar with these names, over 50,00,000 blogs and websites have been set-up using Wordpress till date, and the RailFrog CMS powers the infamous Twitter website today.
What’s more, even the big guns such as Microsoft who had never ever released a freeware in the market, have decided to launch free anti-virus programs in the market, while Mozilla, Google and other continue to upgrade their browsers to the latest standards to compete with IE8.
In all this, the overall standard of the web technology is being raised considerably, and this is just the beginning of the Web 3.0 era, as there will be lots more to come. Yet, the 2.0 to 3.0 transition will not be as noticeable as the old web world to the modern Web 2.0 transition. Therefore, just prepare yourself to enter a totally revamped online world in the next few months.
