When flirting online don’t just write anything that pops right into your head. With Internet dating you have a certain window of opportunity to prepare how you are going to go about flirting. When responding to an email or instant message, always read what the woman is saying and think about your response before pressing enter. This is a definite advantage for Internet dating, especially if you are a guy that often finds himself sticking his foot his mouth or saying some really stupid things to women.
Use Resources To Help You
There are several ways that you can go about using resources online when it comes to flirting. Internet dating websites are not the only places where you can flirt. Social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are also ways to meet women online. If you know some things that she is passionate about, find more information or the latest articles on the topic and post her a link to the articles. This shows that you have an interest in what her interest are. If she asks you a question about something, you can always seem smarter too, since you have all the knowledge possible at the ends of your fingertips.
Don’t Reveal Too Much At Once
If you are just staring out in your virtual relationship with a woman, it is not necessary for you to reveal your whole past history and whole life story to her. When talking online that can get quite boring really fast. In person, it’s ok to talk about your life and things of that nature since you have the actual interaction of a conversation. Online you don’t have it and it may seem like you are writing her a book on your life that she doesn’t care to read. Reveal little things here and there so that she can get to know you a little bit at a time.
Don’t Lead a Woman On
If you have absolutely no plans of trying to pursue a relationship with a woman outside the virtual world, do not lead her on to believe that you will have a relationship. Don’t go flirting with her telling her how you can’t wait to meet her or spend time with her, when you know that it will never happen. Just because it is online dating, that doesn’t mean that women still don’t have feelings. You can still casually flirt with a woman online even if you don’t have intentions of a relationship, just be sure that you never lead her to believe that you will have a relationship in the real world.

Great advice. Especially regarding how different it is to date online than on the internet. Chat and email are 2 dimensional and can be misconstrued.
I often find though that the choices online are far less attractive to what you would get in the real world. Now if everyone did it online, then it would be awesome!
