Wetshaving: Prepare Yourself for the Perfect Shave

Most of us have complained about having a bad shave day at some point in time, but I guess things are more difficult for guys who have to face this problem every time they put a razor to their face. Skin experts believe that shaving is a sort of cosmetic art that most men fail to realize and end-up ruining their faces. Shaving may have become cheaper and more convenient with disposable razors but people just don’t understand that the entire process needs a certain level of precision and some technique. The biggest of brands are shouting hoarse that they have introduced space-age shaving razors but the fact is that this still doesn’t solve the problem of getting nicks, allergic reactions and cuts.
So what is the best way to go about it? It is rather simple and most of the things mentioned below would be very easy for you to incorporate into your daily shaving schedule. Firstly, ensure that you don’t shave very early in the morning, particularly just after having woken-up. The facial skin in the morning tends to be a bit puffed-up which makes it more susceptible to getting shaving nicks. Try to shave around your shower time. Some people might say that shaving after a bath is the best time, but that necessarily isn’t needed. It could be just after a shower or even before it. The idea is to keep your skin well-moisturized during and after shaving it. This can be easily done by dabbing your face with some warm water and then rubbing it for a few minutes before shaving. Follow this by applying three-to-four fingertips of a cold cream or lotion and massage your face with it. In fact, you could do a quick massage, even if it means rubbing a bit hard — there are no supposed side-affects of doing it.

This way of preparing your skin to ensure a smoother and comfortable shaving experience is called Wetshaving. It guarantees a closer shave every time. Another benefit of Wetshaving is that it protects you against the problem of developing in-grown hair growths, which are associated with shaving methods that tend to pull the hair out of their bud rather than slide them out.
