Mustang: Brawny not Beastie

This car is not a show pony like some of the other supposedly sturdy Asian cars or SUVs that crouch at the hint of the slightest of road bumps — the Ford Mustang is not a racer car too by any means, but it provides a combination that most of its contemporaries fail to event think about, i.e. compelling performance and a sense of styling that is timeless. The design is quite simply retro and it defines this truly classic muscle car. For those who don’t know its history, I will give you a crash-course — it was introduced in ’64 and in a very short while became the American icon of performance cars that didn’t give a damn about how much gasoline was being sucked.
It still retains some of its old-world charm, but this is no vintage car by any means. It is renowned for being brawny and people like Quentino Tarantino and George Clooney swear by its tank-like body structure that can survive years of misuse. The model I am putting forth here is the one that has seen Ford gain some of its lost market share — The 2008 Mustang Bullitt. It offers a V8, all 4.6-liters of it and keeping in touch with its macho presence, there are no automatic transmission options. The car has what most cars and quite frankly most people nowadays lack — a design that exudes class.

It isn’t supposed to be a luxury sedan so don’t go searching for automated USB plug-ins or roofed reading lights. What the Mustang offers is unadulterated testosterone-heavy style complemented by the huge V8, which has quickly made it one of the most rewarded rear-drive coupes. Muscle is what it offers and this is what the whole game has been for Mustangs over the decades.
