With the NCAA tournament about to wrap up parties will be formed to watch each game. The difference between a good party and a bad one is immense. The good party thrower is begged each year to throw another, while the bad party thrower might never get a chance to have another one.
First things first with a sports based party. You need to have a big enough TV for the party. So for larger parties you might need to set up a second TV for the group. This can be done by pulling out one from a bedroom or office. Luckily flat screen TVs have made this easier over the years. No longer do you have to get another person to carry that old CRT out of the bedroom. Also when looking to place the TV you are going to need plenty of room for people to gather around the television. Using a covered patio so there is not too much glare is perfect for this
Using an outdoor setting can also separate the people who just want to enjoy the party from the guests who want to watch the game. This happens all the time with people that aren’t sports fanatics. Also people whose teams have been eliminated sometimes can’t stomach to get into the game. This will allow the people who truly want to focus on the game to have their own area.

Now before we go into drinks we should start off with food. It is critical for you to have food at a party especially a party for a sporting event. You can go two ways when looking to provide food. You can provide it all or ask for contributions. When asking for contributions it is good for one to provide a grill that is ready to cook. People then can bring over hamburgers and different meats for everyone to cook on their own. Either way you still should provide some snacks. This can be down with pretzels and chips. Having some sort of dip often helps. Cheese is always a good dip that people will eat.
Now for drinks don’t throw a bring your own beer party unless you under the age of 23. By that time if you are going to throw a party you should be able to spend a few bucks for beer. Depending on the size of your party you need to determine on a keg or bottles of beer. Whenever in doubt, lean towards a keg. It also makes clean up easier with plastic cups for everyone. For the non-drinkers it is good to have water and some sodas for people to drink. When catering the party to have women, a bottle of vodka and mixers is also advisable.
A quick review, you need the proper amount of televisions. Secondly, you need to provide food and proper drinks. Lastly, try and stay away from music instead of the announcers. For the people who want to watch the game they will be annoyed when they can’t hear the game. For the rest tell them that this is a Final Four Party not a dance hall.
